Lunas Petersham
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains, in plain terms, what personal information Lunas Petersham collects, why we collect it, and how we look after it when you visit our website, get in touch, or enquire about an event. We’ve written it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. “Lunas”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the business operating Lunas Petersham.
1. Who we are
Lunas Petersham, 316 Stanmore Road, Petersham NSW 2049. You can reach us at lunaspetersham@gmail.com.
Legal business name and ABN: [to be completed by Lunas]
2. The information we collect
What we hold depends on how you interact with us. For most people it’s the basics needed to answer an enquiry or plan an event — your name, email, phone number, the details of your event or occasion, guest numbers, and any dietary or allergy information you share. If you write to us, join our mailing list or leave feedback, we’ll have that correspondence too.
When you browse the website, our systems and analytics tools may also pick up technical information such as your IP address, browser type and how you move through the site. We only collect what we genuinely need to run Lunas and to do the things you’ve asked us to.
3. How we collect it
Usually we collect information straight from you — through our event enquiry form, by email or phone, when you join our mailing list, when you chat with our team in person, or when you reach out on social media. Some information is gathered automatically as you use the website, through cookies and analytics.
4. Why we use it
We use personal information to respond to enquiries and plan events, to keep you updated about your event, to accommodate dietary needs, to provide good service and improve what we do, to run and improve the website, to keep proper business records, to send marketing where you’ve opted in, and to meet our legal obligations.
5. Marketing & staying in touch
If you opt in, we may email you about events, new menus, offers and other Lunas news. You can opt out any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us, and we’ll never sell your personal information.
6. Cookies & analytics
Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar tools to work properly, measure traffic and improve your experience. We may use third-party services such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, which collect information about how visitors use the site — pages viewed, approximate location, device and similar technical details. You can manage or turn off cookies in your browser, though some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
7. Event enquiries
When you send an event enquiry, we collect what we need to help — your name and contact details, your preferred date and time, guest numbers, the kind of event you’re planning, dietary requirements and any preferences you mention — and we use it to reply, prepare options and talk your event through with you.
8. Allergy & dietary information
Details about allergies or dietary needs can count as sensitive information under privacy law. We only use this to look after you safely at Lunas, and we’ll seek your consent where the law requires it.
9. Payments
Our website doesn’t take payments. Event deposits are made by bank transfer, and any card payments happen in person at the venue through our payment terminal, where card details are handled by our bank or payment provider rather than stored by us.
10. How we store & protect your information
We take sensible steps to keep personal information safe from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and only the people who need it for their work can reach it. Information may be held on our own systems and with trusted service providers. No online system is ever completely secure, so we can’t promise absolute security, but we treat your information with care.
11. Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it’s needed to run Lunas or look after your booking — for example with our website host, our email and analytics providers, our payment and banking providers, event suppliers, and our professional advisers. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. We don’t sell your personal information.
12. Information stored overseas
Some of the technology providers we rely on may store or process information outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable care that your information stays protected and handled consistently with this policy.
13. Accessing & correcting your information
You’re welcome to ask what personal information we hold about you, or to have anything inaccurate corrected — just email lunaspetersham@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity first.
14. If you have a concern
If you think we’ve mishandled your information, please tell us first at lunaspetersham@gmail.com so we can look into it and put things right. We’ll respond within a reasonable time. If the Privacy Act applies and you’re not satisfied with our response, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
15. Children’s privacy
Our website isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect their information unless it’s provided as part of a genuine booking made by a parent, guardian or other responsible adult.
16. Other websites
Where our site links to third parties — social media, maps, payment services and the like — we’re not responsible for their privacy practices, so it’s worth reading their policies before sharing information with them.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business, website or practices change. The latest version always lives on this page, dated with its most recent update.
